Roughly seventy to seventy-five per cent of Ghanaians live rurally, as subsistence farmers or fishermen. Urban centres hold almost all of the country's hospitals, clinics and pharmacies. Many people born in a village will live an entire life without ever seeing a doctor.
Medication currently runs about $3.00 per person and a malaria-treated mosquito net about $6.00. Your gift buys the medicine and sends Ghanaian medical professionals — not visitors — into the communities that have none.
